Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! AMSE Health Group offers therapy services through participating insurance networks. Accepted plans may vary depending on the provider, location, and insurance arrangement.

We encourage prospective clients to contact us to verify insurance eligibility before scheduling an appointment.

What if my insurance is not accepted?

You may still receive services through our private-pay option. This allows you to access therapy without using insurance benefits.

If your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement from your insurance provider.

What is the difference between insurance and private pay?

When using insurance, your health plan determines coverage, cost-sharing requirements, and applicable medical necessity guidelines.

Private pay allows you to pay directly for therapy services without submitting claims to your insurance company.

Both options provide access to the same professional, confidential, and individualized clinical care.

How much will I pay if I use insurance?

Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your insurance benefits. Depending on your plan, you may be responsible for a copayment, coinsurance, or deductible.

We recommend confirming your outpatient mental health benefits before your first appointment.

Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for therapy?

In many cases, yes. Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) may be used for eligible mental health services.

Eligibility depends on your account's rules and applicable tax requirements.

Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?

Yes. AMSE Health Group offers convenient telehealth therapy appointments for eligible clients located in states where their treating clinician is authorized to practice.

Virtual sessions provide a private and accessible way to receive mental health support from the comfort of your preferred location.

Do you provide couples therapy?

Yes. Couples therapy is available at a private-pay rate of $150 for a 60-minute session.

Insurance coverage for couples therapy varies. Many plans do not cover relationship counseling unless specific medical necessity and billing requirements are satisfied.

What happens during the initial diagnostic assessment?

Your initial appointment is an opportunity for you and your therapist to discuss your concerns, mental health history, current challenges, and treatment goals.

Together, you will begin developing a personalized treatment approach based on your needs.

The private-pay rate for the initial diagnostic assessment is $150.

How long are therapy sessions?

We offer individual therapy sessions in two formats:

  • 60-minute session: $120

  • 30-minute session: $75

Your therapist can help determine which session length best supports your treatment goals.

Will my therapy sessions remain confidential?

Yes. Protecting your privacy is an essential part of our practice.

Your personal and clinical information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and professional ethical standards. Confidentiality has certain legal and safety-related exceptions, which your therapist will explain during the intake process.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the federal No Surprises Act, individuals who are uninsured or choose not to use insurance generally have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of scheduled healthcare services.

AMSE Health Group provides these estimates in accordance with applicable requirements.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that schedules change and unexpected circumstances arise.

Clients are encouraged to provide advance notice when canceling or rescheduling appointments. Specific cancellation requirements, any applicable fees, and exceptions will be outlined in your intake documentation.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple.

Step 1: Contact AMSE Health Group to request an appointment.

Step 2: Discuss insurance eligibility or private-pay options.

Step 3: Complete the required intake documentation.

Step 4: Attend your initial assessment and begin working toward your treatment goals.
